Faund Magazine

A few weeks ago, two Swiss design students asked me to contribute to a zine called Faund Magazine. Since the only thing I love more than Swiss design and zines is Swiss design student zines,, I was pumped. The zine is all photos that found on the internet by guest "finders". This is only their second issue, and I was psyched to be asked to contribute. I sent them a bunch of photo of goth weddings I found on Flickr; I'm not sure how many or which ones they'll use, but here's a quick sample below.

You can buy the issue for 7 Euros, which is something like a million US dollars, right? Check out more photos and how to buy here at Faund.net, which is their site that exists to promote their paper zine which preprints images that were found on the internet. The call is coming from inside the house, people.

Halloween Fiesta

S-s-s-s-s-s-somebody stop me! I've got Halloween fever!

According to this person's description for their photo, their grandmother is the babe in the tiger outfit. ME-OW.

Skunky pussy:

At first I thought this was a really awesome costume of the eSurance.com cartoon pitchwoman, but then I realized it was just a cat with a wicked reverse muffintop.

Speaking of reverse muffintop, this girdle is doing to his manboobs the same thing the same thing it's doing to my desire to ever be intimate with another human ever again: slowly squeezing the last succulent morsels of life out of it.

Thanks to Lindsay for sending me this picture of her friends.

(Thanks to Peter W. for this photo!)

Emo-ticons

Google chat has all these "secret" animated emoticons like a monkey face and a smiley face with a moustache, but the really vexing one is the "Rock out!" emoticon which makes an animated hand doing the devil horns when you type \m/.  Yes, it's quite clever in terms of arranging keyboard symbols and letters into a pictogram (as clever as "BOOBS" on a calculator), but how has the need to express "devil horns" become a more relevant need in IM communication than "8=====D" ?  Google people, get ontop of this. I'll be here waiting with my safesearch off.

Suck On This

It doesn't work as well as garlic or holy water, but you can distract a vampire long enough to escape by giving it a keg tap to suck on.

Bite Me? No Thanks.

Isn't it frustrating how sometimes the people who are dying to get fucked the most are the ones you'd least like to have sex with? Nature plays a cruel joke sometimes.

To be fair, these are both from Comi-Con 2008, a sea of unfuckable masses. Nick Confalone went there this year too, which makes him like bringing a gun to a knife fight in a land of the blind.

Goths Never Get Old

I think I could never ever get sick of goth party photos. I like this one especially, because from the description, this is when they're getting ready to go out to the goth club. I imagine that when you're a goth, you spend about 45% of your time getting ready to leave the house.

I also like the black urn by the door. Way to stay on message with the macabre, goths.

Thanks to Peter for the pic.

Picking Up Goth Girls

I can see why if you're just a regular guy, you'd want to go for the goth girls at a party, because they have less inhibitions about doing nasty stuff. Just don't forget - they also have major issues and might be kind of clingy.

Novelty Daquiris at the Renn Faire

Those giant daquiris they sell at amusement parks and the beach are such a rip. You think they're this amazing deal because they're only $3, but then you realize that there's no booze in them. So then you're stuck with a huge novelty glass of gross sweet slushy stuff, plus you feel like a total idiot for not knowing it was a virgin drink.

The only worse indignity is when you're at the Renn Faire and someone points out that they didn't actually have pina coladas at King Arthur's court. Or maybe she's drinking mead.

Cyber Goths

The thing about cyber goths is that you know that they're lives are shitty because of the inner pain and all, but they always look like they're having such a good time.

Keeping My Edge sXe, Part 2

Back in high school, I used to have a lot of Mormon friends, and they were always coming up with the funnest things to do. Because when you're not spending your energy trying to get laid or drunk, you put your mind into really creative stuff.

Hanging out with one straight edge person is annoying. Hanging out with a whole group of only straight edge kids is going to end up way more fun than all the times you got drunk and nothing really happened. When's the last time you were wasted with your buddies, and someone said "hey, let's make costumes and put on a play!"? That's something only a mind that hasn't been soiled with Busch lite and bong rips would come up with.

Look at these guys. Not a beer in sight.

Thanks to Beth for the pic.

Oh god, I wish I could see that video footage. This is a moment that deserves the vitality of motion.

Hairdresser's parties

This was found on a hairdresser's Flickr page. Next time I go to get my hair cut, I'm going to ask for the tri-hawk with platinum tips and red roots. To match my 3-piece suit for a fancy occasion (hopefully a family wedding).

Then, things got kind of weird....

Saving CBGB

The worst thing about CGBG's being closed is having to see or hear the phrase "Save CGBG's". Because if you happen to be at a party where there's a "Save CGBG's" poster on the wall, chances are the party looks something like this:

Doesn't this look like Nosferatu is stealing a petite Asian woman?

How cube kids party better

You might think that those kids hanging out on St. Marks or the Astor Place cube are just posers, but you're wrong. Truth is, they're partying way harder than you. They hate their dads, they're ready to experiment with flexible personal barriers, and they don’t care about getting their clothes dirty.

Case in point: these pictures are all from the same person; different parties.

They moon you and wail on guitar while their friend pukes

This speaks for itself

They are TASERING each other! You would NEVER do that!
